A net based teaching and learning project is looking for island partners
Three small Danish islands are preparing a project on a teaching cooperation programme based on distant teaching and learning. The programme includes teaching in English and Science based on three lessons a week.
The project has received financial support from the Danish Small Islands Local Actiongroup (LAG).
Its purpose is to keep, upgrade and create more job possibilities on the islands and hold on to and attract children families.
Its aim is also to hold on to the young ones in the local community by making them experts in distant learning. A qualification which opens to college/university education based on net teaching and also to hold / create distant work on a national and global scale.
The project is carried out by a network of teachers at different schools. The teacher acts both as local teacher in relation to his/hers own school and net teacher in relation to the distant school.
During the project the teachers develop learning material and teaching methods. Learning material will be made available for download at a website thus making it accessible for a wider circle.
The project is looking for island partners in European countries. If you are interested contact Morten Priesholm, who is the coordinator of the Danish island LAG: mp@aktionsgruppe.dk and www.aktionsgruppe.dk/english
